Wow - about as bad an effort at phishing as I have ever seen

Just got this phishing email.  Wow.  Really poorly done.  Wonder if anyone clicks on the link?

You have exceeded Your UC Davis Email quota limit of 2.5GB
and you are advice to expand your UC Davis Email quota limit
within the next 72hrs of notification. So therefore you are
to upgrade your UC Davis Email quota limit to 5GB. By using
the below link to upgrade your UC Davis Email account.

  1. The most ridiculous thing about that phishing attempt is that it probably works!

  2. Some people inevitably do. I think it's the same principle as in the "Nigerian" scams. They don't want to be wasting their time with people who can spot such things, so they make it entirely obvious for them, ensuring that only the most easily snookered actually click through. Since sending these e-mails is so cheap, their biggest problem is losing time on false positives.
